ATHIRD bulk-milk collection scheme began in Scotland last week. A 1,500-gal. tanker of Mr. D. Malloch, Coupar Angus, calls at 14 farms daily. In the morning it collects 1,000 gal, of milk for the Brechin creamery of the Scottish Co-operative Wholesale Society, and in the afternoon makes two further rounds, taking another 600 gal. to Brechin and 1,500 gal. to a creamery at Dundee.
Farmers' tanks vary in capacity from 150-400 gal. The Scottish Milk Marketing Board have varied their transport rate by id. a gallon because the tanker does the work of three platform lorries.
