THE International Year of the Disabled 1981 Fund has benefited from collections raised by hardy brass bands playing carols on the open deck of a 1955 Bristol Lodekka manned by volunteers from Eastern Scottish. The bus, known as The White Lady, also took carol singers to Edinburgh hospitals and spastic children for an outing.
Meanwhile, to celebrate the International Year, London Country Bus Services are increasing by 12 per cent the cost of passes for pensioners, the disabled and the blind.
