Company, has been reappointed a full-time member of the board of the Scottish Transport Group. Reappointed part-time members are Prof K. J. W. Alexander, A. M. Donnet, D. K. Thomson, and J. F. Denholm. Sir P. M. Thomas continues as the Group's chairman for a further period of three years.
Richard Earl, 34, has been appointed marketing manager of Eastern British Road Services, taking over from Bill Atkinson, formerly marketing director and now truck rental director for Eastern BRS. Mr Earl had been operations manager for the company at its Derby hq since a group reorganization in 1972.
Sir Monty Prichard, chairman and managing director of the Perkins Engines Group, has announced his retirement from executive responsibilities in the MasseyFerguson organization. Sir Monty, some months ago, expressed his wish to retire from active executive duties. Accordingly, he relinquishes immediately his position as executive vice-president — engines in the Massey
Ferguson Corporation and as managing director of Perkins Engines Ltd, but will continue as chairman of the Perkins Engines Group until later this year. Sir Monty will be succeeded as executive vicepresident — engines and as md of Perkins Engines Ltd by Peter J. Wright, until now Massey-Ferguson's executive vice-president Europe. Peter N. Breyfogle, vicepresident corporate operations, Massey-Ferguson Ltd, Toronto, takes over the post of executive vice-president Europe from Wright.
Melvin A. Wilson, 63, former technical manager for the Goodyear Tyre Company at Wolverhampton, has been appointed assistant to C. J. Pilliod, chairman of the parent company in Akron, Ohio, himself a former md of Goodyear — Great Britain.
Anthony Evans has been appointed marketing and sales director of Coachwork Conversions Ltd. Mr Evans joins Coachwork Conversions from Tenneco Walker (UK) Ltd.
Ken A. Beard, who has been with ERF for 14 years, has been appointed marketing manager — Europe, responsible for the complete marketing activities for the
ERF "Europeantruck range in the EEC. Mr Beard will also set up distributorships in Europe to add to current representation in France, Belgium and Holland. He is succeeded as export sales manager by Derek R. Bill, who joined the export sales department in 1963.
Robin Grant is joining J. B. Butterfield Ltd, diagnostic equipment specialist with hq at Ellesmere Port, as a technical representative attached to the essential equipment division. Mr Grant was formerly a territory manager of Applied Power (UK) Ltd.
Brian Sessford, 42, becomes general manager of Cumberland Motor Services Ltd on March 1. He is at present chief engineer of Trent Motor Traction Co and Midland General Omnibus Co.
