We record with regret the deaths of Bill Clarke and Alexander Laidlaw.

Mr. Clarke. 58. who lived in Rushden, Northants, a transport man for many years, died after a heart attack. He was for some time British Road Services manager at Weldon. Northants, and then became an executive with Walker's Trans port, Ltd., Leicester. Subsequently for about 10 years he was general manager of the Hamblin Group at Rushden and afterwards he became manager of the haulage firm of F. J. W. Humphrey and Son, Brookfield-road, Rushden.

Mr. Laidlaw, a partner in the Dunfermline, Fife, firm of haulage and removal contractors, J.Mitchell and Co., Whitelaw Road, has died suddenly. A civil engineer with the Army in the Middle East. he worked with the Anglo-lranian Oil Co. at Abadan from 1941 to 1951. He then returned to Dunfermline to become a joint partner in the firm of J. Mitchell and Co„ with his wife's brother, Mr J Mitchell, • On page 31 of the January 24 issue of CM, Mr. S. Kelly iMarchon) should have been included among the members of the FTA's new user committee, and not among the directors of Bnstol Commercial Vehicles. We apologise for this transposition.
