Booked Yet ?

JNTEREST in The Commercial Motor's Fleet Management Conference (in London on September 24) has been considerable since we first announced the plan in our January 3 issue. Firm reservations from directors, transport managers, chief engineers and many other top experts within road transport's varied spheres have been pouring in. Already, with the conference still nearly eight months away, almost a third of the available space has been reserved.

In short, the indications are that a lot of people may be disappointed if they try to book at the last minute. This prompts us to ask: "Have you booked yet?". A reservation form was printed in our January 3 issue. You may have received one in the mail. Either way, we suggest you make reservations now—we may not be able to accept them later. If you do not have a form we will be happy to post one to you.

If by any chance you do not know about the Conference, here are the details: it will be held in the Connaught Rooms, London, on September 24, the day before the Commercial Motor Show opens at Earls Court. The theme is "Transport Design-1974 ". The four papers will be on: future engine design, Mr. J. G. Dawson (director of engineering, F. Perkins); future p.s.v. design, Mr. S. C. Vince (chief engineer, B.E.T. Federation); future goods vehicle design, Mr. H. C. Redburn (chairman, R.H.A. vehicles committee); and future braking requirements, Mr. Hubert Perring (chief mechanical engineer. Ministry of Transport). Many other well-known operators have agreed to speak during the Conference. The chairman will be Mr. R. Gresham Cooke, M.P., president of the I.R.T.E. The T.R.T.A. president will close the Conference. You cannot afford to miss, it, so book now!
