Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Ford has denied that it is involved with the new Michigan factory that will build 250,000 two-stroke Orbital engines a year. The Ford Motor Company is testing the revolutionary Australian-designed engine, but it is purely a research project at the moment.

The engine's inventor, Ralph Sarich, is thought to be demanding around 38 Australian dollars for every Orbital engine produced under licence. This seems to be the sticking point that is preventing Ford and General Motors from entering into an agreement with Orbital.

The two firms are deciding whether to design their own versions of the fuelinjected two-stroke, or go in with Orbital. Among other two-stroke engines offered to them is one from the Advanced Engine Design Inc of Salem Virginia.
