• British Leyland's Austin Morris division has restructured its engineering operations into four clearly defined engineering activities vehicle engineering, component engineering, body engineering and styling and engineering services.
Each department will be headed by a director or chief engineer responsible to Mr Harry Webster, director of engineering. Vehicle engineering will establish design and engineering criteria for each model. Each model range will be assigned to a group of engineers who will have overall responsibility for it.
