• A new refuse collection vehicle, the RouteKing, is being introduced for chassis up to 16 tons gvw by Powell Duffryn Engineering Ltd, Llantrisant, Pontyclun, Glamorganshire. Made under licence from Dempster Bros, USA, it has a wide 4 cu yd-capacity rear hopper and is of the pre-compaction type.
Packing is by a single level control operated by the crew from tile kerbside, and there is a choice of manual or automatic full-cycle operation, short-path cycle or manual-crush cycle.
