Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AS from August 27, changes have been made in the law relating to the use on the roads of combine harvesters, tractor-mounted grass cutters and hedge trimmers, and straddle carriers. They are enacted in the Motor Vehicles, (Authorization of Special Types) Order, 1956.

Formerly, at least one attendant had to be carried with a machine 8 ft. to 9 ft. wide overall, and two had to accompany all wider machines. Now two attendants are obligatory only if the machine exceeds 11 ft. wide.

Twenty-four hours' notice must now be given to the police before a journey of over five miles is made by a harvester More than 9 ft. 6 in. wide (formerly 8 ft.).

The Order specifically permits tractormounted grass cutters and hedge trimmers to exceed the normal maximum width of 7 ft. 6 in. when the shearing arms are extended to cut grass or trim hedges.

Straddle carriers are now permitted on the road for the additional purpose of travelling unladen to and from manufacturers and repairers' premises for overhaul or repair.
