Araid by thieves on a Brigg industrial estate resulted in the theft of two commercial vehicles and thousands of pounds worth of tyres. The criminals have since dumped one of the vehicles after using it to transport the tyres away from the Island Carr industrial estate.

But a Volvo FL10 owned by B Midgley Road Haulage is still missing. The tractive unit, reg F440 TBE, was taken on the night of 2-3 September. Police have "no idea" where the blue and white unit is or who took it. The Taurus tyres, worth around E11,000, were taken from Colin Booth Transport's site on the estate. Operators should look out for the registration plates C152 OVL which the thieves removed from a Freight Rover van.

A Oaf 17-tonne curtain-sided vehicle that was stolen at the same time from W Graham & Sons has since been found at the Howden truck stop near Goole. It appears they used our lorry to pinch Colin Booth's tyres and then dumped it immediately," says a company spokesman.
