WEST MIDLAND municipalities and W the Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Co., Ltd., are seriously short of platform staff, according to Mr. W P. James, West Midland Licensing Authority.
In a report which he submitted to a meeting of the Midland Regional Board of Industry, last week, Mr. James stated that there had been a further deterioration in the labour position throughout the area. Midland " Red " have vacancies for 599 drivers and 360 conductors, Birmingham Transport Department has 824 vacancies and Wolverhampton 45.
