Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Your Editorial in the April 18 issue caught my eye. Considering that your paper is good at telling hauliers what they should do, why don't you give them the money to have their cabs changed to sleepers ? I know hauliers are greedy, but so are all drivers; nobody twists their arms to take an ordinary truck 3,000 miles without a sleeper. And the unions only hold the cards in this country, where a sleeper is not needed. I wouldn't ask any driver to take a vehicle of mine past Dover without a sleeper, but not everyone is like me—I think of others, Every one of our truck makers, builds sleepers as well as normal cabs. If the haulier doesn't want one, nobody can force him; he is paying for it. R. FORSHAW, Hackney, London.
