AAmong the list of exemptions to MoT testing there is no indication that vehicles covered by trade plates will be exempt. Under the Motor Vehicles (Test) iExemptionl Regulations 1969 which took effect from May 1 you would be permitted to tow a vehicle due to be scrapped to the scra py a rd.
