JAMES GAULD, a contractor of Aberdeen, admitted at Kincardine and Deeside District Court in Stonehaven earlier this month to using a lorry last July while there was no excise licence in force for the vehicle.

He was fined £4 0 0 and ordered to pay back duty of £20.83.

The court was told the back duty for the vehicle amounted to £970, but some of the money had been paid.
