• From January 1975 Centrax Gears Ltd is to end its association with North American Rockwell Corporation. It is to design and market its own range of planetary axles for off-highway uses in construction equipment arid industrial vehicles.

Four rationalized-design rigid axles having four different sizes of differential casing and hub will be produced by Centrax, as will one or two complementary ste:ring units and fork-lift truck axles. Axle type-, will comprise the models RP10, RP16, RP23 and RP32, the suffix number referring to nominal breakout loads in 1000kg.

Production of the present range of Rockwell planetary axles will continue alongside development of Centrax axles until 1975. Rockwell envisages taking steps to produce its axles from within the enlarged Common Market before 1975.
