Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE Midland Implement Co., Ltd., Evesham, has recently placed on the market a new range of British-made tractor implements. The appliances are particularly suitable for use in conjunction with the Fordson tractor and they comprise an adjustable and convertible one, two and three-furrow plough, cultivator, etc.

The three conversions incorporated in the plough strike an entirely new note and mean a definite saving to agriculturists generally, as all classes of ploughing can be carried out with one implement. The single-furrow conversion is for exceptionally deep ploughing, such as is required for potatoes, sugarbeet, roots, etc.

The two-furrow plough, which is the standard implement, takes care of all normal ploughing requirements, no D22 matter how heavy or hard the land may be, whilst the three-furrow conversion is intended to be used under land conditions where the draught is lighter than where only two furrows would be used.

The Midland cultivator is an adjustable five, seven, nine and 1i-tine implement, the design providing for fullwidth spacing far any of the foregoing number of tines. Broad shares for stubble breaking can be fitted, also a set of three ridging bodies for potatoes, etc.

Two further useful fitments have recently been placed on the market by the above company, one a reversible tractor cleat and the other a reversible spade lug, both of which are covered by patents. The advantages of these fitments are that good wheel grip is assured under all conditions, and that they have double life, being reversible. A third fitment supplied is a shifting hitch, this being, in effect, a moving horizontal tractor drawbar. It is bolted to the tractor drawbar, and movement is carried out by the driver turning a wheel within easy reach from the tractor seat.

The uses of this hitch are when ploughing on uneven land ; the plough can always be manipulated to do even work by operating the hitch. This fitment is also extremely useful when the tractor is used for pulling a binder during harvest. The hitch enables the tractor driver to keep the cutting table close to the standing crop, without danger of the tractor wheels causing damage to the grain.

A. full range of Midland implements will be shown on the stand of the Ford Motor Co., Ltd., at the Royal Show.
