IhiechE's fuel seminar

A two-day international conference, "Petroleum Based Fuels and Automotive Applications", is being held by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers at its London HQ, Birdcage Walk, on November 25 and 26.

As a result of various external pressures on the oil and motor industries, changes will take place during the next decade in the specification of fuel for gasoline and dieselengined vehicles, and also to trends in total vehicle design. These factors will have an impact on the behaviour of vehicles in relation to driveability, performance, fuel consumption, exhaust emissions, engine starting and noise.

The aim of the conference is to highlight the pressure on the oil and motor industries, both separately and jointly, that create the need for change; and the problems caused by these pressures and the changes that can be expected because of them, over the next ten years.

Speakers from a wide crosssection of UK and overseas companies and organisations in this field will contribute papers at the conference which is sponsored by IMechE's Automobile Division and cosponsored by the Institution of Petroleum. Telephone 01-222 7899.
