sector for the first time next month with a five-year contract for Tesco Stores' frozen food distribution in the northern half of England and Scotland.
A new 22.000m3 (790,000ft3) dedicated cold store at Wardley. Manchester. has been contracted by UCD for the Tesco contract.
From there a fleet of articulated vehicles are to distribute over 70,000 cases of frozen food each week to 100 Tesco. stores. The Scottish sites will be served by a trailer switch system from UCD's Broxburn centre.
UCD says that the new Tesco contract is further evidence of its expansion in the specialised field of controlled temperature
