• The news on US motor carriers' profits is good but far from great. An analysis of financial results from selected regulated inter-state truckers conducted by the American Trucking Association shows that 1986 first-quarter profits reached 1.35%. That might not sound like much to some people, but it's more than double the 0.59% recorded this time last year. Traffic Management, a Cahners publication, August.
