NEWTON, of Northern Motor Utilities, Ltd., York, has been nominated by the North-Eastern Divisional Committee of the C.M.U.A. for appointment as a c.M.U.A. representative on the 'Yorkshire Road and Rail Regional Conference, in place of the late. Mr. W. Smith, of the O.K. Carrier Co., Ltd., Leeds, MR. R. LEA has been appointed London manager and engineer of Specialloid, Ltd., operating from the company's branch at 194, Great Portland Street, W.1. MR. H. L. KING, formerly with E. P. Barrus, Ltd., has joined the company as a representative in the Southern Counties, whilst MR. L. YOULDON, previously in London, is a representative in the Eastern Counties.
MR. F. J. PAscoE, director of British Timken, Ltd., recently made a resentatiOn, on behalf of the directors and staff, to Mr, J. H. BODEN, who has retired owing to ill-health. Mr. Boden,
who is a brother of the late Mr. 'Oliver Boden, of Nuffield group fame, has been with the British Timken organization in Birmingham for 25 years. He was the company's first industrial sales representative.
MR. JACKSON HOGGARD, at present employed in the schedule. office of Nottingham Corporation Transport Department, has been appointed schedule officer and traffic assistant under. Leigh (Lanes) Corporation Transport Department. Mr. Haggard commenced his transport career ti‘ie years ago with East Midland Motor Services, Ltd., Chesterfield, and three years ago was appointed to his present position with Nottingham Corporation.
MR. WALLACE H. BARKER, assistant chief engineer to Ribble Motor Services, Ltd., Preston, has been appointed manager of Rawtenstall (Lanes) Corporation bus undertaking, in succession to Mr. J. E. Ord, who retired recently. Mr. Barker started his career with Hull Corporation Transport Department, in which he was assistant engineer from 1933 to 1935, since when he has been with the Ribble concern.
