Since we saw the first 4x2 version in 1989 a 6x2 pusher and three 4x4 prototypes have been built.
MAN cites driver comfort and road safety as driving forces behind the development of its underfloor concept from rigid chassis to tractive units. But it is keen to point out that the UXT's permanent four-wheel drive, in combination with antiwheelspin (ASR), also gives the ability to tackle long-distance haulage through all European climatic zones.
