Last year, the vehicles Of the Gas Light and Coke Co., Lon-don, travelled more than 7,000,000 miles, or about 240 times round the world, representing an increase of 1,000,000 miles over 1935. The number of petrol, steam and horsevehicle drivers employed by the company who entered for the awards of the National "Safety First" Association
was 558, compared with 483 in 1935. Nearly 72 per cent, of the petrolvehicle drivers, all the steam-vehicle drivers and 94 per cent, of the horse drivers completed last year without an accident.
