Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The MGA 1200 Modular Gas Analyser from Sun Electric is capable of testing engines with complex management systems and ensuring that they conform with exhaust emission requirements.

By using reprogrammable software the analyser can be set up to suit a range of vehicle performance data and check exhaust emissions, even when a catalytic converter is fitted.

The basic unit measures three gasses (carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and hydrocarbons) using the infra-red method.

Modular design allows upgrading to a four-gas analyser to give air/fuel ratio (Lambda) on engines fitted with a catalyst but without an exhaust tapping above the convertor.
