Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

is Coventrybased engineer Vernon Phillips (pictured) who sought the services of the company in 1997.

Phillips, who had already paid the company £703 to begin the process, was asked for a further payment of £3,500 for the °relocation programme'. Unable to pay the lump sum, Phillips was offered financial assistance in the form of a loan from sister-company First Point Finance (FPF); formerly known as Atlantic 66 Pacific Investment.

In June 1998 he began paying a monthly standing order of £180, After ten months with no sign of a job or an interview in the US, Phillips cancelled his standing order. FPF applied to have a county court judgement issued against him and sent in the bailiffs.

Phillips now plans a counterclaim against FPF and FPI to recover the £2,953.95 he says he has lost.
