A TRUCK DRIVER asleep in his cab had a lucky escape when another driver spotted flames coming from the rear of his truck, and woke him up.

The fire started at around 2am last Friday (26 September) in the vehicle which was parked at the Brooks Lane Industrial Estate, Middlewich, Cheshire A spokesman from Cheshire police says it is treating the incident as arson: 'Although there were no casualties the potential was very high as there were other trucks with drivers parked in the area.

"We are appealing for anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area, or has any information as to how the fire may have started to contact us."
