Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

DRODUCTION and export figures for goods and public service vehicles have been issued by the Board of Trade and are as 'follows: in the third quarter of this year 92,818 goods vehicles were produced, showing a drop as crimpared with 99,849 produced in the corresponding period of 1961. In the case of public service vehicles, however, 3,941 were produced, in the third quarter of this year, showing a slight increase over 3,776 for the corresponding period of 1961. Export figures for the third quarter of this year are, in the case of goods vehicles, 32,004, and in the case of p.s.v.s 1,636. The figures for the corresponding periods of last year are, respectively, 34,607 and 1,777, showing a slight fall in both cases.

distributors. Commercial Vehicles (Southern) Ltd., Station Road, Cullompton, Devon (telephone: Cullompton 3191), represent the company in Devon and Cornwall, and Coventry and Jeffs Ltd., Stafford Street. Bedminster, Bristol 3, will continue to cover Gloucestershire, Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire.

Mr. S. A. Ryall has been appointed acting marketing services' manager of Black and Decker Ltd., following the resignation of Mr. R. K. Symmons, who has left to take up another appointment.

Mr„ L. Hocking has been appointed general Manager of the automation division of U.S. Industries Inc. Engineering Ltd.

Mr. T. R. Beady, assistant technical director of Eaton Axles, Ltd., of Warrington, has been elected chairman of the North West Centre, Automobile Division of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers.

Mr. R. E. J. Parr has been appointed Europabus representative in Great Britain with his headquarters at Victoria Coach Station, Buckingham Palace Road, London, S.W,1 (telephone: Sloane 3466).

Brigadier C. A. Langley is retiring from his Ministry of Transport post as chief inspecting officer of railways at the end of next January. His place will be taken by Colonel D. McMullen.
