[WE regret to record the deaths of Mr. vV A. Henderson, Mr. P. M. J. O'Sullivan, Mr. D. Gallagher and Mr. G. Read, Mr. Henderson, former Scottish Licensing Authority and Chairman of the Southern Traffic Commissioners has-died at Bovingdon, Hefts, aged 76. He was a tram conductor who became national secretary of the Road Transport Group' (Commercial) and an official of the T.G.W.U. He served on many bodies before taking office, under the 1930 Act, in Scotland. He later became Licensing Authority under the Road and Rail Traffic Act. He was Regional Transport Commissioner for Scotland in the period of the Second World War and later became a member of the Road Haulage Executive in 1948 and a member of the board of management of B.R.S. from 1953 to 1956.

Mr, O'Sullivan, of Portmead, Swansea, who on September 17 became manager of the Whittlesey (Cambs.) depot of British Road Services, died at the age of 37 in Peterborough Memorial Hospital. He was assistant depot manager for British Road Services in Swansea before moving to Whittlesey.

Mr. Gallagher, who was head of the firm of Thomas Gallagher and Sons, carriers and shipping agents, Londonderry, died on October 22. He was 53. Mr. Gallagher was a member of the Northern Ireland Road Haulage Wages Council, and voluntarily acted as arbitrator in a number of local industrial disputes. For the past 10 years he was a member of Londonderry Harbour Board.

Mr. Read died on October 22. He was widely known for the part he took in the affairs of the Road Haulage Association and he served on the Area Committee for many years.
