Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Mr. G. Cotton, of Hooper and Ashby, is the 1969 Isle of Wight Lorry Driving Champion. He won the title on Sunday at Newport when, in the face of strong opposition from 77 other competitors, he received only 53 penalty points.

The competition was run in accordance with the regulations for the National event but this year it was not recognized as a national eliminator. The Isle of Wight Road Safety Committee invited lain Sherriff to present the awards and then to address the competitors on the subject of the National competition which is sponsored by Commercial Motor. it is expected that the loW committee will approach the National Lorry Driver of the Year committee for official recognition in 1970.
