Kent ports growing

ROLL-ON/roll-off traffic through south-eastern ports between London and Plymouth will increase by about 90 per cent by 1990 — according to forecasts by the National Ports Council.

Transport Under Secretary John Horam, who gave this news in the Commons, added that a large proportion of this growth could be expected to go through the Kent ports.

Plating problems THE TRANSPORT Department is considering how best to tackle a range of problems concerning registration plates, and will be consulting interested parties in due course.

This was stated in the Commons last week by Under Secretary John Horam, who said that a number of bodies, including the police, had recommended that.reguladons should be amended in order to prevent confusing letters on registration plates.

Announcing this in the Commons, he promised to take into account the view of any MPs who wished to comment on the advice he now proposed to give to local authorities.

BRADLEY Trucks, the Seddon Atkinson dealer in Aberdeen has moved to new premises at Portlethen Industrial Estate, Aberdeen.

Here Bradley's has larger and more modern workshops and can carry more parts. This move from the old premises in Pittodrie Place, Aberdeen was prompted by the growth in business stemming from fishing and oil-related haulage in the area.
