IMPORT licences expired before goods 'reached their destination because of delay by British Road Services, said Major H. RJ Watling, director of the British Cycle and Motor Cycle Manufacturers' and Traders' Union, at a recent meeting of Coventry Chamber of Commerce.
Road transport between London and Manchester now took five days, compared with 24 hrs. before nationalization, he said. The Chamber is to co-operate with the Birmingham, Leicester and Nottingham Chambers in a move to secure improvements in transport services.
