• German company Tern Tec has developed a non-return petrol filler system that can be screwed in place of the existing petrol cap. The device replaces the filler cap and the end of the filler neck with parts manufactured from Du Pont's Delrin and Viton materials.
So far only BMW and Mercedes-Benz vehicles can be fitted with the cap, but the range is being extended to suit other marques.
