• British Leyland has introduced to the UK market the drawbar version of the Mandator 32-ton machine already in use elsewhere, particularly in Belgium and Eire.
Three wheelbases will be offered in the UK — 12ft lin., 1511 and 1811 with a 12in. frame of 0.31in. thickness.
Plated at 16 tons solo, the Mandator haulage model is similar in specification to the tractive unit. The AV760 12.47-litre six-cylinder engine also powers the drawbar machine, developing 205 bhp at 2200 rev/min and 564 lb ft at 1300 rpm (BSAU 141a:

The heavy-duty double-reduction rear axle of 10.5 tons capacity is also retained for the haulage machine with a crosslock differential optional.
