• British Leyland has introduced to the UK market the drawbar version of the Mandator 32-ton machine already in use elsewhere, particularly in Belgium and Eire.

Three wheelbases will be offered in the UK — 12ft lin., 1511 and 1811 with a 12in. frame of 0.31in. thickness.

1971). equipment. The D203, six-speed overdrive gearbox is standard, with the option of the RTO 610 10-speed rangechange box. Clutch is a 17in. single dry plate with hydraulic air assistance. The heavy-duty double-reduction rear axle of 10.5 tons capacity is also retained for the haulage machine with a crosslock differential optional.

Full air braking is provided, with airassisted mechanical parking brake acting on the rear axle and trailer brakes for the secondary system and the rear axle only for parking. The haulage Mandator has power assisted recirculatory steering as standard
