• Five of the latest 16-ton Argyle Christina trucks made at East Kilbride, Lanarkshire, have been delivered to one of Scotland's largest suppliers to the construction industry, Wm Griffith (Whitburn)
Ltd. Thirty-six years ago the Griffith company was started with a second-hand Scottish-built Clyde truck.
This is the largest single truck order for Argyle Motor Manufacturing Co Ltd, since it launched the Christina a year ago. Deliveries now total 14 vehicles.
In addition to the service facilities at the Argyle factory at 20 Flakefield, East Kilbride, the recent acquisition of a Bathgate diesel electrical company by Argyle Diesel Electric Co Ltd paves the way for a Central Scotland service department at Bathgate in the near future.
