• The Retread Manufacturers Association announces the creation of associate membership within its constitution. This enables tyre repairers of repute to join the Association and obtain the advantages which the Association can offer in watching their interests and representing them to the trade, the various Ministries and other bodies. Currently, it will be active in the work of the British Standards Institution on tyre repair standards. The new section will have its own chairman and will be represented on the main council. The first chairman is Mr. W. C. Earl, of Meridian Tyre Repair Co. Ltd. Application for particulars of membership should be made to the Secretaries, Peat, Marwick, Mitchell and Co., Glen House, Stag Place, London, SW1.
