ASCOTTISH fish merchant operating his own vehicles was fined a total of £225, or 180 days' gaol: at Wick, last week, for allowing three drivers to work excessive hours. He was Alpine Macgregor, Thurso, who was found guilty of 70 offences—permitting men to drive more than 54hours without rest and more than 11 hours in 24, and not ensuring that drivers had 10 consecutive hours' rest.
