ANOTHER record attendance is expected at this year's CM Lorry Driver of the Year Finals to be held at Cranfield, Bedfordshire, on Sunday, September 7.
National secretary John Wells is spearheading a publicity campaign for the area heats for CM LD0Y, and has issued material to transport cafés and motorway service areas throughout the country. Already, he has had over 200 replies, and is confident that at least 3,000 drivers will enter.
The entry fee remains £10, and the competition is open to all drivers holding a clean licence. Arrangements are also under way for a separate written competition to be organised with Roadchef. Finalists will receive a Roadchef voucher.
Three centres — Hens! Essex, Guernsey and Buckinghamshire North—have been revived this year, and John Wells has high hopes of a grand total of 37 centres. All inter ested should contact him at Room 810. Dorset House, Stamford Street, London SE 1, 9LU (tel: 01-261 8511 or 8742).
