Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

WHILE AGREEING that the Alvis Stalwart is a fascinating and accomplished piece of machinery, and probably one that deserves separate treatment, I deliberately excluded it as being too far off the mainstream of British trucking.

The same is true of the splendid Morris FAT artillery tractor, which I also rejected as being too specialised. As to my inclusion of three Bedfords, I’d defend this by pointing out that Bedford provided the bulk of the logistical trucks used by the British Army for the better part of 50 years, building a total of almost a quarter of a million military vehicles... dammit, there are even some ageing MJs still in service today, albeit they are being superseded by the new MAN truck.

However, had I been allowed to extend this to a top 20, I’d have happily included his suggestions, as well as the so-called RAF Leyland of World War I, the Scammell DROPS (as well as the Foden), the Fordson WOT2, AEC Militant, Leyland Hippo... and the Thornycroft J Type.

I wonder if we could agree more readily on the 10 worst British military vehicles... I’ll kick off by suggesting the Albion CX24 (pictured above) and the ReynoldsBoughton RB44.
