• To run its 212.5 million Sainsbury-dedicated Yate Distribution Centre, near Bristol, SPD Contract Distribution has appointed a new general manager — Gordon Croy. He succeeds Robin Teverson, who has been appointed development director for SPD Contract Distribution.
Croy began his distribution career in 1974 when he joined a national dairy foods company as assistant manager in Edinburgh. Following promotions within the company he was appointed general manager of its Croydon depot in 1981.
In 1984 he joined SPD Contract Distribution as general manager of its Ashford Distribution Centre.
