DESPITE CONCERNS to the contrary haulage operators are reporting little problem in securing loan finance packages for vehicles and equipment.

Colin McKay, managing director at Kent haulier Fast Forward International, says the recession has not closed the door on his attempts to buy new trailers. His business approached one of the big finance companies about a month ago and he says: "If I was to raise one point, it did seem to take a bit longer than usual. Perhaps the banks are being a little bit more careful in their checking processes."
