SUNBEAM is the only company in Britain currently manufacturing trolleybuses. Like Guy and Daimler it is a member of the Jaguar Group.
Two four-wheelers and one six-wheeler are manufactured. One of the four-wheelers is intended for single-deck bodywork. There are four wheelbases to suit bodies from 30ft to 36ft overall length.
The second four-wheeler, which is-for doubledecker use, is made in three wheelbases for body lengths from 26ft to 30ft. Although the singledecker chassis is intended for 44-seat bodies and the double-decker for 73-seat bodies both have the same gross rating of 14 tons.
The Sunbeam three-axle trolleybus is offered with a wheelbase of 18ft 6in or 20ft for 30ft to 33ft 6in bodies and maximum gross weight limit is 17 tons.
