FURTHER road developments and improvements in the Port of Liverpool were needed urgently, Mr Desmond McKiernan, Liverpool manager of the Automobile Association, told the Institute of Exports in Liverpool. Mr McKiernan said that severe cuts in the road development programme could be expected soon but the Government had to realize that the Port of Liverpool needed better roads to improve its productivity. Particularly urgent was the need for a Garston by-pass.
