• A group of 12 HGV drivers were stranded overnight at a service station when a leaking drum of lethal insecticide blocked them in last Thursday.
The leak came from a punctured drum which was one of 77 en route to Ethiopia, from Dow Chemicals of Kings Lynn.
Firemen built a soil darn around the spillage which happened at 22:00hrs in the lorry park at the Granada Services on the junction of the AlM and M62.
