Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE leading speciality of London Lorries Ltd., Spring Place, Kentish Town, N.W.5, is the quadruple-purpose (Q.P.) all-weather coach. It has been built in increasing numbers during the past six years and over a hundred orders are in hand. Various improvements have, of course, been introduced fora time to time, but the essential features remain much the same, a proof of the merit of the original design.

The typical Q.P. coach has, above the waist-line, a set of neat metal window frames providing the runs for the mechanically operated windows. The top rail of the windows forms a bearing for the sliding hood, which folds down neatly at the rear. The window framework is hinged as a unit, so that it can be raised or lowered instantly. Any window may be adjusted independently and the windows used whether the hood be up or down.

The standard specification includes two doors on the near side (therefore fulfilling Scotland Yard requirements) and an off-side door by the driving seat_ There is a gangway between the end of the driving seat and the body side, so that this door is available, when required, as an extra exit. The fitting of a raked nickel-plated windscreen and glazed sun-sister gives a distinctive and up-to-date appearance to the coach.

Particular attention is given to the comfort, construction and arrangement of the seats. When it is stated that a raked and wide cushion is provided and that the distauce from the: back of one row of seats to the next is no More than 2 ft. 5 ins., it will be readily appreciated that the eeemingly impossible has been achieved. The secret of this compactness lies in the special hollowing out of the backs of _the seats.

The general design of the body is Modelled on the motartistic lines, with the side panels carried below the chassis line. .Extra large concealed luggage lockers are provided when required. Each body is specially designed for its chassis and to suit the particular requirements of each customer. All sizes are made from a 14-seater upwards. The reinforcement of the framework is carried out in a scientific manner, so thatthe utmost strength is obtained with .a minimum of weight. The window frames are supplied fixed and finished black if desired.

London Lorries, Ltd., also build the latest types of bus body. For one-man operation the firm's own door-operating gear is fitted. This gear is particularly neat, as the greater part of the mechanism is concealed under the floor. The rear emergency door has both inside and outside handles.

A wide range of commercial bodywork, suitable for all trades, is also built. The same care which is lavished on the details of the Q.P. coach is available for the production of the highest class of light delivery van, or for carrying out, in the spirit as well as the letter, the specification of a petrol-tin lorry. Owing to the unprecedented demand for the firm's productions, the premises at Spring Place are being extended. Additional premises are also utilized at Castle Road, Kentish Town.
