QEVENTEEN tippers displayed their capabilities at a demonstration of Telehoist tipping gears at Farnham last Friday. The demonstration was held in a large sandpit, each vehicle depositing its load of sand before an audience representing industry and the Press.

Especial interest was centred on a new underbody gear being shown, the Telehoist SL5. This functions on the same principle as the existing SL2 and SL4, but it is smaller and lighter and is claimed to be exceptionally easy to install. The whole' range of SL gears, however, performed admirably.

A variety of bodies were fitted to the demonstration vehicles, including some steel bodies made by Telehoist, Ltd., and some timber and composite bodies made by King and Taylor, Ltd. The heaviest s18 vehicles inevitably caught the eye, notably the massive Douglas 22-ton Automaster (130-in, wheelbase) with its I6-cu.-yd. dumper body: this was fitted with the " Telelever " HDL7 twin-ram gear.

The Telehoist Foco-cranes 150 XL and 200 ZX, which were introduced last November, were also seen in action.
