R. P. A. HELPS has retired from his position as chairman and managing director of Tyresoles Services (East Midlands), Ltd. MR. R. BARTRAM, sales director, has become director and manager, with the assistance of MR. G. H. BLACKWELL, Mr. Bartram joined Tyresoles in 1937, and was later London area sales manager and personal assistant to the managing director. Col. MR D. G. STOKES. general sales and service manager of Leyland Motors. Ltd., left Britain this week on a twoweek visit to Russia. He is travelling with a party of British businessmen led by MR. J. B. Scorr, of Crompton Parkinson, Ltd. Arrangements for the visit were made through the trade representative of the U.S.S.R. in Britain. According to Leyland Motors, Ltd.. it is some 28 years since British buses were shipped to Russia, but there are more than 200 post-war Leyland buses operating in Poland.
