Lack of arlequate transport facilities is the great drawback.to development in Uganda, and there is great need for head porterage to be displaced, so that thislabour can he put to productive work on the land. The Government, has realized that in the'building of motor roads lies the otesinus corrse to be taken, and excellent services by inechanisal transport vehicles are already in existeece. Their numbers, however, are not sufficient to cope with the ever-increasing cultivation of crops. and lorries should be in considerable demand in -the near
future. .
