Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I would like to reply to N Myers' letter "Secondhan Business(CM, December 1).

He does not seem to unde stand the simple basics of th subject of the vehicle disposa even without going into th complexities.

How he can claim that th tender system is becoming mor costly and less reliable Corr pletely baffles me.

It is not that we fear compet tion. We want to give a firs class service not only to th vendor but the subsequent cw. tomer. The intervention of middleman can only create a extra cost in the total operatior How this brings about efficienc and an absence of financia wastage cannot be readily e), plained.

The question of collectioi charges and service charges ID' the auction companies has beet glossed over, as has the dispose of non-runners and partly dis mantled vehicles.

I would add, for Mr Myers benefit, that I am taking up thr cudgel on behalf of the tende system, as I feel that the recen one-sided picture of auctions tenders should be properl) redressed.

I have no long-term fears ia the eventual outcome of thi: subject, and therefore rest my case.
