I am surprised to seethe National Freight Corporation falling into the trap of "hire and reward." Reward is a form of payment that does not amount, to hire — kind rather than cash — and road transport legislation has been drafted to distinguish between the two to close a possible loop-hole, hence the phrase, "hire or reward.
