MR. IVAN WALLER, formerly with Rolls-Royce, Ltd., has been appointed technical manager in the sales department of Small and Parkes, Ltd., the maker of " Don " friction fabrics.
MR. T. PLANT, A.C.A., assistant secretary of Henlys, Ltd., has been appointed secretary in place of MR. E. EDGERTON, who has resigned to become a director of Langney Motors, Ltd., Eastbourne.
MR S. F. PHILPOTT, has
become chief electrical engineer of S. Wolf and Co., Ltd., Ealing, London, W.5, the well-known maker of portable electric tools, etc. Mr. Philpott was for some time with Joseph Lucas, Ltd.
MR. R. G. C. LINDSAY has become mechanical representative of the North British Rubber Co., Ltd., at 161, Great Charles Street, Birmingham, and MR.
S. M. WILSON, tyre representative, attached to the company's Manchester warehouse at 57, Hilton Street.
MR, M. W. ELDRIDGE, A.M.I.Mech.E., of Leyland's export division, has left England for a short business tour of Belgium. Much of his time will be spent with Brossel Freres, the company's agents in Belgium, who, in addition to selling complete vehicles, have numerous orders in hand for the installing of Leyland 7.4-litre oil engines in chassis of continental manufacture. MR. J. H. BREBNER, 0.B.E., F.R.S.A., chief public relations and publicity officer of London Transport, has become president of the Regent Advertising Club in Succession to SIR PATRICK HANNON, M.P.
MR. L. P. LORD, chairman and managing director of the Austin Motor Co., Ltd., is sailing for New York again this week. He is taking with him Mr. G. W. Harriman, works director, Mr. B. J. Hegarty, export sales manager, and two of the senior production staff.
DR. D. PARKINSON has returned from an inspection of carbon black manufacturing plants in America, made on behalf of the Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd., in which he holds the position of chief of the compounds division. During his tour, he gave lectures to laboratory staffs in New York and other cities on the use of carbon black in tyre manufacture.
MR. A. S. BISHOP, sales director of the Goodyear Tyre and Rubber Co.. Ltd., who did so much to pioneer the use of large pneumatics in this country, sailed for the U.S. last Wednesday, and expects to return in November. He is to visit Akron, the headquarters of the American Goodyear organization, and will then visit Goodyear plants in many parts of America. His object is to study the latest manufacturing and marketing trends and anything which will have a bearing upon the British market in the future.
