GRANTS totalling more than E13m have been made by the European Regional Development Fund towards the cost of over 50 roadbuilding plans throughout Britain.
The grants are the result of applications made to the European Commission — the administrative wing of the EEC — for funds by local authorities.
Schemes to get funds include new roads for industrial estates and improvements to sub-standard sections of road — but does not include cash for any major roads.
